In a short period of time, the State of Qatar has made great strides in all areas of the economy, especially the industrial ones, as oil revenues have been used in the best way to establish a solid base for industries related to oil, gas and other basic industries, and to achieve advanced infrastructure capable of serving national industries and responding to their future needs and challenges. Qatar has achieved the best quality standards in performance and cost reduction on par with similar industries in industrially advanced countries.
The major transformation in the path of industrial development came after the issuance of Law No. 1 of 1980 regarding industrial regulation, which provided for providing many incentives to national investors in the industrial field.
Qatar Development Bank
It was established with the aim of contributing to the development of the national economy of the State of Qatar and diversifying the structure of production by participating and financing new industrial projects on easy terms, supporting existing industries and assisting them in obtaining the necessary financing from local and international financial institutions and bodies and obtaining technology on good terms
Ras Laffan Industrial City
It is the most modern industrial city in Qatar and includes LNG production plants, industrial and commercial port, and multiple industrial facilities. It provides an integrated range of services to industrial and commercial companies in addition to preparing the infrastructure. Two companies operate in the city, the first of which is Ras Laffan LNG Company “Ras Gas” The other is Qatar Gas.
Mesaieed Industrial City
It includes a diversified base of industries that include crude oil, hydrocarbon products, petrochemicals, iron and steel, light and support industries, as well as the Mesaieed port, which is equipped with modern facilities, which works around the clock to serve the needs of export and import of many products.
There are in Mesaieed the Qatar Petroleum Gas Complex and Qatar Petroleum Refinery, and the average daily production of the refinery is 731 thousand barrels per day, and this production capacity covers the needs of local consumption until 2020.
Doha Industrial Area
This industrial zone has been established for light and medium projects, as it includes all services (visible and invisible) such as roads, lighting, gas, sewage, water, and an integrated service building. The zone accommodates hundreds of projects distributed over nine major sectors in order to achieve integration and coordination in their establishment and are an addition to the national economy.
Halul city
Halul city includes a number of factories, including the sweet fuel gas plant, the sour fuel gas plant, the waste incineration plant, the sewage treatment plant, and the nitrogen plant.
Dukhan Oil City
It is one of the first sites in which the country began exploring and producing oil, and a strategic urban plan that began in 2003 and continues until 2022 is being implemented to develop the Qatar Petroleum concession area. About (193) projects have been selected to be implemented during the next twenty years in four phases.
