The Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment
The council is generally concerned with all matters related to economic and energy affairs, investing the state’s reserves, laying down its general policies in the economic, financial, and commercial fields and energy affairs, approving plans for their implementation and follow-up implementation, approving projects for the exploitation of the country’s natural resources, and major industrial and economic projects undertaken by the state Or public bodies, institutions or companies.
The Council carries out its functions related to investing the state’s reserves by defining the objectives to be achieved from investing this reserve within the state’s general strategy and setting a long-term policy for reserve investment, and annual programs for that investment in addition to specifying the banks and financial institutions in which the state’s reserves may be invested in or through them.
Qatar Financial and Business Center
The Qatar Financial and Business Center aims to enhance economic activity in line with global economic development and to provide the appropriate climate for investment to push development efforts and open multiple horizons in this field.
The Center has the right to authorize companies, individuals, and business entities to establish or establish a business in banks, investment, and finance companies, to engage in insurance activities, financial markets, stock exchanges in all their forms, manage funds and brokerage of all kinds, provide classification and evaluation services for investment, financial agency, consulting, credit, holding companies’ business, and operate and manage offshore companies.
Qatar Investment Authority
It is a sovereign wealth fund specializing in domestic and foreign investment and was established in 2005 in order to enhance the economy of the State of Qatar through diversification of investment work, building new asset departments and managing oil and natural gas surpluses as a result of the fund’s strategy to reduce the risks of Qatar’s dependence on energy prices, as it invests mostly in markets International (the United States, Europe and Asia-Pacific countries) in addition to investing in Qatar outside the energy sector, and the device aims to be a major international financial and investment center in the region.
